*305# is the NCC-mandated unified VAS unsubscribe code — works on all four networks. Below are network-specific backups.
A free NCC service. Once active, telcos can no longer auto-subscribe you via promo SMS. Works on every network through 2442.
Blocks every unsolicited promotional message and IVR call. Bank alerts and direct telco messages still come through.
Activate FULL DND STOP → 2442 Check my DND status STATUS → 2442Activate full DND first, then send these codes to let specific categories through.
If you ever want promotional messages back. Takes ~24 hours to take effect.
Turn DND OFF ALLOW → 2442Log every deduction you catch. Build the evidence trail for a complaint and see what these subscriptions actually cost you.
Paste any suspicious SMS — typically from a 4-5 digit shortcode — and the app will tell you if it's a paid subscription trap and exactly how to stop it.
If unsubscribing and DND haven't stopped the deductions, escalate. Generate a complaint letter and send it.
Auto-subscriptions don't just happen by accident. Here's how they catch you.
Browsing on mobile data, a banner pops up: "Click OK to continue." That's not a continue button — it's a subscription confirmation. Always read what you're tapping.
A flash message appears on your screen asking you to reply YES, OK, or with a code. Replying confirms a paid subscription. If you didn't initiate it, ignore it.
"Free 3 days — caller tune service." Day 4, you're being billed ₦50/day. Always check the SMS for the auto-renewal amount and use *305# to opt out before it kicks in.
After every recharge, check your balance and watch it for 10 minutes. If it drops without you using anything, dial *305# immediately to see what's eating it.
NCC regulations say you're entitled to a refund for unauthorized VAS charges. Telcos must refund within 24 hours of a valid complaint. Log everything in Track as evidence.
Dial *305# once a month even if everything seems fine. New subscriptions can creep in silently. Make it part of your routine.
